About the Museum
The National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) was established as one of the national level institutions set up during the Silver Jubilee celebrations of India’s Independence, to portray and promote awareness on the Natural Heritage of the country.
The National Museum of Natural History, an institution devoted to environmental education, derives its strength principally from theme-based exhibition galleries, experiential resource centers such as Discovery Room, Activity Room, and educational and out-reach activities, with the intention to depict the country’s rich natural heritage and natural history(geology, botany and zoology).

Class 8-12.
Theme
Poster making competition
Protection of the Ozone Layer and reducing climate change by eliminating Ozone Depleting Substances (ODSs) and Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs).
Slogan writing competition
- Protection of the Ozone Layer.
- Climate friendly lifestyle practices to combat global warming.
Prizes for Winning Entries
- Poster making competition: 1st Prize- Rs 10,000/- 2nd Prize- Rs 7,000/ 3rd Prize- Rs 5,000/- and consolation prize (3 Nos.) Rs 2,000/-
- Slogan writing competition: 1st Prize- Rs 5,000/, 2nd Prize- Rs 3,000/- 3rd Prize- Rs 2,000/- and consolation prize (5 Nos.)- Rs 1,000/-
Guidelines
- One entry per student.
- The entries should be original.
- The entries of Poster must be made in drawing sheet sized 22×13 inches.
- Participants must fill their Name, Class, School Name, Complete Postal address, Mobile No. with email id along with Recommendation of School Principal/Vice Principal/ Headmaster in given format.
- Please upload the entries (only one in each category) in the Poster and Slogan writing competition directly on the website. The link is available on the websites of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Ozone cell. Physical submission of entries will not be accepted.
- Please upload entries only JPEG & PDF (both) files less than 5MB.
- Prize winning entries will be announced during World Ozone Day function on 13th September 2024.
