About JBNSTS

Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS), Kolkata is an Autonomous Registered Society under West Bengal Society Registration Act XXI of 1860 (No.S/4353 of 1960-61). This organisation is promoted by the Government of West Bengal and administered by a Governing Body with representatives from the State Government, Academics and Industry.

Conceptualized in 1958 by visionaries such as Dr.  B C  Roy and Sir Jehangir Ghandy, JBNSTS was initiated to commemorate the Birth Centenary Celebration of  India’s first modern scientist, Acharya J C Bose. The program was inaugurated by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. It enjoys status of a special institution as declared by Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal.

Scholarship Details

Applications are invited for Junior Talent Search Test/ Junior Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti 2024 for Class 10 Passed Students by Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search.

Eligibility

Students who have passed 10th standard examination in  2024 with minimum  75% marks/ equivalent C.G.P.A. (in aggregate) and currently studying in class XI in science stream(with at least 3 subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Statistics, Electronics, Computer Science) in any school in West Bengal are eligible to apply.

Test Pattern

Junior Talent Search Test / Junior Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti is a 2 Hours duration examination with full marks of 90. Students are to answer from Physical Science, Mathematics and Life Science.

Syllabus

  • 10th Std. Examination.
  • Subjects: Physical Science, Life Science and Mathematics.

Benefits

  • Rs. 1250/- per month for two years.
  • Rs. 2500/- Annual Book Grant for two years.
  • All selected scholars shall get the scholarship certificate.
  • Exposure  to  seminar, workshops, scientific projects collaborated by scientific community
