About the Competition
The Blue Koi Gallery would like to welcome you to the International “Wild and Tamed” Art Competition. This online competition is all about the interplay of wild and tamed elements in our world. Submissions may range from untamed landscapes and fierce wildlife to serene domestic scenes and cultivated gardens.
Artists can interpret the theme abstractly, exploring the tension between wild emotions and calm states, or through cultural perspectives, depicting clashes or harmonies between tradition and modernity. You’re invited to use different mediums like paints, sculptures, digital art, prints, photos, and mixed Media art. Join us in exploring the intricate interplay between the wild and the tamed.
Theme
Wild Elements – Untamed landscapes and wildlife scenes, capture the rawness of nature, from rugged mountains to turbulent oceans.
Tamed Elements – Encompasses manicured gardens and carefully arranged still life, representing a controlled and ordered aesthetic. In contrast, abstract expressionism explores the untamed, uncontrolled energy in art.
Eligibility & Entry Terms
- Open worldwide
- Artists must be 18 years old
- All backgrounds, skill levels and styles accepted
- All visual media accepted: Painting, Mixed Media, Photography, Digital, and Sculpture
- Entry fees are non-refundable
- Images must be original work created by the submitting artist
Entry Fee
This fee is essential for covering administrative costs, facilitating the judging process, and promoting the winning artworks on various platforms.
Standard: $20 for 4 images / 35 for 6 images
Image Requirement
- File Size: Max 2MB
- Format: jpg, jpeg, png only
- Ensure professional presentation; including proper cropping, no mockups, frames or watermarks.
- File Name Format: Artist Name_TitleofArt.jpeg

Prizes
The winners of the Wild & Tamed Competition will receive:
- 1st Place: $100 USD cash prize
- 2nd Place: $75 USD cash prize
- 3rd Place: $50 USD cash prize
The Winners will be prominently featured on our website, in social media posts, newsletter blasts, and will receive a certificate. Awards will also be given to qualifying Honorable Mention and Finalists. All winners will have the honor of being exhibited in the Blue Koi Online Art Exhibition alongside hundreds of the world’s best contemporary artists.
