Submissions are invited for Design a Handloom Souvenir Contest 2024 by Ministry of Textiles, India. The last date of submission is August 15, 2024.
Contest Details
In order to bring together the creative diversity of this country, and generate a set of exquisite products, by using Indian handloom Products, a creative crowd-sourcing competition is being launched through the MyGov platform. In this competition, the Indian citizens/designers/entrepreneurs of this country are requested to submit their entries, based on which these interesting products can be manufactured and available for sale.
To generate awareness about the importance of the handloom industry and its contribution to the socio-economic development of the country, 7th August is celebrated every year as βNational Handloom Dayβ.
August 7 was chosen as the National Handloom Day to commemorate the Swadeshi Movement which was launched on this day in 1905 in the Calcutta Town hall. The first National Handloom Day was inaugurated on 7th August 2015 by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi at the Centenary Hall of Madras University in Chennai.
Ministry of TextilesΒ in collaborations withΒ MyGovΒ is organizing a contestΒ Design a Handloom Souvenir. For the same Indian citizens are requested to share their ideas of souvenirs designed/created by them using Indian Handlooms in the form of photograph(s) to promote and support the Handloom Sector.
These souvenir products can be in the form of file covers, book covers, slip pads, pen stands, pens, card holders, mobile holders, notebooks, mobile chargers, tea and coffee mugs, and so on.

Guidelines
- The Competition is open to all Indian Citizens.
- Each entry should be accompanied by a brief written explanation of the design and how best it encapsulates its essence.
- Create a souvenir that reflects the use of Indian Handlooms in a diversified manner.
- This competition is a wonderful opportunity to express your thoughts feelings & ideas through creativity. This will be an example of inspiration for people to use Indian Handloom Products.
- All entries must be submitted through the creative corner section of www.mygov.in. Entries submitted through any other medium/mode would not be considered for evaluation.
- The design must be original and should not violate any provision of the Indian Copyright Act, 1957 or the Intellectual Property Rights of any third party. The design should not have been previously published in any print or digital media and must not contain any provocative, objectionable or inappropriate content.
