About Kerala Forest Department
Kerala Forest Department is a law enforcement agency for the state of Kerala, India. Over 75% of the land area of Kerala was covered by forests until the 18th century.
Competition Details
Competitions shall be conducted for students at District and State level as per the schedule mentioned below for the Lower Primary, Upper Primary, High School and College students. For Lower Primary and Upper Primary students, competitions will be only for Pencil drawing and Water colour painting. For High School and College students, competitions will be for Elocution, Essay writing and Quiz in addition to Pencil drawing and Water colour painting.
Higher Secondary (Standard XI and XII) and above will be considered as College level.
For each event, only two entries are permitted from each institution. The participants should carry certificate to the effect that they are students of respective educational institutions from the Head of Institutions. In case of queries, contact the Assistant Conservator of Forests (Social Forestry) of the respective District. The contact details are given here.
In the case of quiz, one team of two members will be allowed to participate from each institution. Even if a single participant represents an institution, he/she may be allowed to participate. Competitors from recognized institutions only are permitted to participate in the competitions. (Recognized unaided or self-financing Schools/Colleges, Professional Colleges, Polytechniques etc., can also participate).
Judging
Competitions may be evaluated by a panel of three Judges with adequate competence in the field. The decision of the judges/quiz master shall be final.
Prizes
Cash prize will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners at District level as well as State Level competitions. Each member of the prize winning Quiz team shall be awarded cash prize separately. All the winners will be awarded certificates in addition to the above prizes.

Time Allotted for Each Competition
- Pencil Drawing: 2 hours.
- Water Colour Painting: 2 hours.
- Essay Competition: 1 Hour.
- Elocution: 5 Minutes.
