About the Notification
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the Storytelling Competition for the academic session 2025–26, inviting students from Classes 3 to 12 to participate and showcase their creativity through stories that inspire, educate, and engage.
This annual event aims to nurture the art of storytelling among students, encouraging them to explore imagination, communication skills, and self-expression, in either English or Hindi.
Categories and Duration

Themes and Topics
Students can choose one topic from the prescribed list provided in Annexure I of the circular. The topics are designed to align with subjects such as English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science, and Social Science, combining classroom learning with creative storytelling.
Competition Levels
The competition will be conducted in three levels:
- School Level (24 October – 6 November 2025):
Schools will organize their own competitions and select one best entry per category. Participants can download a certificate of participation from the CBSE Storytelling Web Portal after submitting their entry. - Regional Level (6 – 20 November 2025):
Conducted digitally through the CBSE Storytelling Web Portal, 10 best entries from each category will be shortlisted from every CBSE region. - National Level:
The selected entries from each region will be evaluated by a committee of experts at the national level. Winners will receive an online Merit Certificate on their registered email IDs.
Registration and Submission Process
Schools must register their selected students on the CBSE Storytelling Portal ‘मेरी कहानी, मेरी जुबानी’ available at this link.
- Registration Dates: 6 November – 20 November 2025
- Schools must upload students’ storytelling videos on YouTube and submit the YouTube link on the CBSE portal.
- A consent letter from parents/guardians must be obtained before uploading the videos.
- Schools can download participation certificates once entries are finalized.
Assessment Criteria
Entries will be judged on the basis of:
- Creativity
- Fluency
- Content Delivery
- Coherence
- Expression
Participation in this competition may also be included in the student’s internal assessment portfolio, giving it both creative and academic significance.

- Schools are advised not to wait for the last date to upload entries.
- The decision of the judges will be final and binding.
