About the Campaign

The Fit India Movement, under the Khelo-India scheme, continues to inspire lakhs of Indians to embrace fitness as a way of life. As part of this mission, a nationwide cycling campaign titled β€˜Sunday on Cycle’ is set to take place on 4th May 2025, and schools across the country are invited to participate and promote a healthier, more active lifestyle.

Movement That Pedals Change

Launched by the Hon’ble Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports and Labour & Employment on 17th December 2024 at New Delhi, the campaign began with over 500 cycling enthusiasts participating in the inaugural event. Since then, the movement has spread to over 5,000 locations, engaging close to 2 lakh cyclists across India.

This remarkable campaign was recently recognized by the Hon’ble Prime Minister in the 117th episode of Mann Ki Baat, underscoring its national importance in promoting health and wellness.

Why It Matters?

As India grapples with rising obesity and lifestyle-related health concerns, campaigns like β€˜Sunday on Cycle’ play a crucial role in spreading awareness about the benefits of physical activity. The goal is simple but powerful: to encourage at least 30 minutes of daily fitness – echoed in the slogan:

β€œFitness ki Dose, Aadha Ghanta Roz.”
