Responses are invited for the Swachh Survekshan 2023 by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and MyGov. Participate by August 7!

About MyGov

MyGov is a citizen engagement platform launched by the Government of India on July 26, 2014 to promote the active participation of Indian citizens in their country’s governance and development. It is aimed at creating a common platform for Indian citizens to “crowdsource governance ideas from citizens”.

About the Opportunity

Swachh Survekshan, conducted by MoHUA since 2016, is the world’s largest urban sanitation and cleanliness survey. It has been instrumental in fostering a spirit of healthy competition among towns and cities to improve their service delivery to citizens and towards creating cleaner cities.

The primary goal of Swachh Survekshan is to encourage large-scale citizen participation and create awareness amongst all sections of society about the importance of working together towards making towns and cities better places to reside in.

Conducted under the ambit of the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban), the annual survey has managed to mobilise people, resources and authorities in an effort to prove that their city, of all cities in India, is the cleanest and that sustainable practices, both by citizens and ULBs, are being encouraged and promulgated.

Why You Should Participate as School Students

There are many reasons why you should participate in the Citizen EV Perception Survey [Shoonya: Zero Pollution Mobility] by NITI Aayog and MyGov. Let’s take a look at some of them:

  • Contribution to Society: As a student, it’s important to participate in surveys of these kinds to contribute to the larger picture of what the government has planned. In this case, making towns and cities better places to reside in.
  • Sense of Accomplishment: By doing something as small as filling out a survey on the MyGov platform, you’ll feel a sense of accomplishment since you will actually be leaving an impact on India with your honest answers.
  • Exposure at a Young Age: At a young age, you will brainstorm different suggestions and ideas centred around cleanliness. You will get exposure to the different things that are currently happening in India and the things that should happen according to you.
