The Balasaheb Thackeray Gorewada International Zoological Park is thrilled to announce a packed schedule of events for Wildlife Week 2024, taking place from October 2 to October 8, 2024. This week-long celebration will focus on creating awareness about wildlife conservation, environmental sustainability, and giving visitors an engaging way to connect with nature.
Event Highlights
- Inauguration & Training on Wildlife Forensics: The week will kick off on October 2 with a grand inauguration ceremony and an expert-led Training on Wildlife Forensics at the Rescue Centre.
- Kiddos Adventure Cruise & Blood Donation Camp: October 3 is a family-fun day with the Kiddos Adventure Cruise at Gorewada Zoo, followed by a Blood Donation Camp for those wishing to contribute to a noble cause.
- Yoga and Keeper’s Day Celebration: Early risers can enjoy a Yoga Session on October 4, followed by a special Keepers Day Celebration to honor the dedicated zoo staff.
- Rangoli Competition and Butterfly Walk: Creativity meets conservation with a Rangoli Competition (theme: wildlife) on October 5, followed by exciting activities such as a Butterfly Walk and the chance to be a Zoo Keeper for a Day on October 6.
- Bird Watching and Heritage Tree Celebration: On October 7, enjoy a peaceful morning Bird Watching and participate in a Cleaning Drive. The following day, join the Birthday Celebration of the Transplanted Heritage Tree, a symbol of ecological preservation.
- Valedictory Ceremony & Prize Distribution: The week will conclude on October 8 with a Valedictory Ceremony and Prize Distribution for all the winners of the week’s exciting events.
