About IFAW
IFAW (International Fund for Animal Welfare) is global non-profit helping animals and people thrive together. They are experts and everyday people, working across seas, oceans, and in more than 40 countries around the world. They rescue, rehabilitate, and release animals, and restore and protect their natural habitats.
They partner with local communities, governments, non-governmental organizations, and businesses. Together, pioneer new and innovative ways to help all species flourish.

2023 World Wildlife Day theme “Partnerships for Wildlife Conservation”
- As we face a time of mass species extinction, partnerships and joint action are even more critical to saving thousands of species.
- This year’s art contest will focus on people working together to protect and conserve endangered and threatened species—from community members to scientists, to wildlife groups, organizations, and governments.
Who can Participate?
- Calling all young artists of aged 4-18 years to participate in the contest.
How to Participate?
- Participants choose a species whose survival has been assisted by people working together in partnership to prevent its extinction.
- This is an opportunity for youth to not only learn more about animals but also about the power of people working together for a common cause.
- Once the artist has decided on a species, they may depict it as an individual animal portrait or in its native habitat.

- All entries must be submitted electronically.
Prizes
- All entrants will receive a certificate of participation upon uploading their submission.
- The Grand Prize Winner, the Finalists, and the Best of Age Group Winners will all receive a certificate noting their placement in the Contest (“Prize”)
Important Dates
- All contestants have to submit their work from Monday, January 9 to February 6, 2023.
- The winning entry will be presented at the official WWD event on March 3, 2023.
