Submissions are invited for Art Contest on Heritage Day 2024 for Students in Classes 8-12 by National Museum of Natural History, Delhi. The last date of submission is April 30, 2024.
About NMNH
The National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) was established as one of the national level institutions set up during the Silver Jubilee celebrations of India’s Independence, to portray and promote awareness on the Natural Heritage of the country.
The National Museum of Natural History, an institution devoted to environmental education, derives its strength principally from theme-based exhibition galleries, experiential resource centers such as Discovery Room, Activity Room, and educational and out-reach activities, with the intention to depict the country’s rich natural heritage and natural history(geology, botany and zoology).
The objectives of the National Museum of Natural History are:
- To develop the NMNH in the country’s Capital to achieve the highest level of quality to promote environmental education on a national level.
- To develop Regional offices (regional museum of natural history) in various regions of the country in order to extend its activities at the regional/local levels.
- To develop museum-based educational projects at the level so as to help school curriculum on environmental education (EE).
- To develop EE resource materials (such as audio-visual aids, low-cost teaching aids, school loan kits, etc.) to promote environmental education (EE).
Contest Details
Wildlife Institute of India – Category 2 Centre for World Natural Heritage Management and Training in Asia and the Pacific under the auspices of UNESCO (WII-C2C) and National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) presents Art Contest by calling all young artists to celebrate World Heritage Day 2024.

Save India’s Natural Heritage.
Guidelines
- Only one entry per student (Classes 8 to 12 only).
- Entries should be original.
- The artwork should be made on an A3 sheet (297mm x 420 mm).
- Participants must write their Name, Class, School Name, Complete Postal Address, Mobile Number, Email ID in block letters on the backside of the painting.
- Participants must also submit a copy of valid photo ID of the School/Aadhaar.
Prizes
- 1st prize: Rs. 3000.
- 2nd prize: Rs. 2000.
- 3rd prize: Rs. 1500
- Encouragement prizes: 5 x 1000= Rs. 5000.
