CBSE invites applications for the Aryabhata Ganit Challenge 2022 to all CBSE-affiliated schools for students of class VIII-X.
About Aryabhata Ganit Challenge (AGC)
Application of Mathematics in daily life needs the development of certain competencies and to promote such competencies among students through joyful assessment, Aryabhata Ganit Challenge (AGC) is conducted by CBSE. The Test will mainly focus on the extent to which children are able to apply mathematics to their daily life.
Levels of the Challenge
The AGC shall be conducted at two levels,
- Level 1: School Level Competition to be conducted by the School in a pen-paper mode.
- Level 2: National Level Competition to be conducted by CBSE as a Computer Based.
Eligibility
- Level 1 (School Level Competition): All students of class VIII-X in CBSE-affiliated schools.
- Level 2: Top three students from each affiliated school registered for the first stage.
Area of Assessment
Questions will assess the ability of the students to apply the following concepts/areas
in their daily lives,
- Number Systems & Number Sense
- Measurement
- Geometry & Spatial Sense
- Data Analysis & Probability
- Algebra
- Analytical, Creative and Abstract Thinking
- Visualization and representation of Mathematics around us
- Strategic thinking
- Mathematisation
- Bhartiya Ganit
Test Pattern
- The test will be of one hour with objective-type questions.
- Total weightage shall be 40 marks and there shall be no negative marks.
Important Dates
- For the First Stage:
- An affiliated school can apply through the link available on www.cbse.nic.in and www.cbseacademic.nic.in before November 15, 2022, till 5.30 p.m.
- No fees shall be charged for the first stage.
- During the period from November 16 to November 21, 2022, a question paper will be made available to the registered schools with an answer key through the portal.
- Schools shall register the names of the top three students by paying an online fee of Rs.900/- from November 28 to December 10 2022.
- For the Second Stage:
- A computer-based test will be conducted by the board for the top three students registered from each school on December 15, 2022. Only the schools that have completed the first stage shall be eligible for the second stage.
- The detailed modalities of conduct of the test shall be communicated to the schools that have registered class VIII-X students for the challenge.
Rewards and Recognition
- The top 100 students from each CBSE region will be given a Merit certificate.
- 10 schools from each region with a maximum number of students participating in the first stage shall be given an appreciation certificate by the Board.
Fees
- First Level: There shall be no fees for participation at the first level (School Level).
- Second Level: Rs. 900/- shall be charged for appearing in the challenge at the
Second Level. - Fees will be accepted only through Debit Card/ Credit Card/ NEFT at the time of registration. The fee once paid shall not be refundable.
