About WBMDFC
West Bengal Minority Minority Development Corporation is a government office to help religious minority groups. It is controlled by the Government of West Bengal.
WBMDFC was established in 1996 as a result of the West Bengal Act XVIII of 1995 with the purpose of providing economic welfare, scholarships, vocational training, mass awareness and career counseling for religious minority groups (e.g.Β Muslims,Β Christians,Β Buddhists,Β Sikhs,Β Jains,Β Parsees, etc.).
Some of the Function of the Corporation:
- To undertake programmes for empowerment of minority women.
- To provide training for various competitive exams.
- To promote training programmes for development and up gradation of skill.
- To provide Education Loans for poor and meritorious students for their studies.
- To provide different scholarships (Merit-Cum-Means, Post Matric, Pre Matric and Talent support stipend) for poor and meritorious students.
Scholarship Details
This stipend is awarded to Minority students who have passed their last final examination with less than 50% marks and are continuing studies in class XI onwards up to Ph.D. (except professional and technical courses).
Eligibility Criteria
- Annual Family Income upto Rs. 2.0 lakh.
- Students passing the last examination with less than 50% marks.
