About the Project
The Veer Gatha Project, now in its fourth edition, is back with an inspiring mission: to honor the bravery of India’s gallant soldiers and encourage young minds to reflect on the sacrifices made by our armed forces. Launched as part of the larger “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” celebration, this unique initiative aims to instill the values of courage, patriotism, and gratitude in school students across the country.
The project is part of the government’s broader effort to keep the memories of our national heroes alive, with a special focus on the recipients of the prestigious Gallantry Awards. Veer Gatha 4.0 seeks to engage students in creative activities such as essay writing, poetry, artwork, and multimedia presentations, giving them an opportunity to pay tribute to the bravery of our soldiers while expressing their thoughts on what it means to be a hero.

How to Participate?
Participation in Veer Gatha 4.0 is open to students from Class 3 to Class 12 across all CBSE schools. They can submit their entries in various categories, including:
- Poems inspired by acts of bravery
- Essays reflecting on the courage of the Indian armed forces
- Drawings or paintings that symbolize the values of sacrifice and patriotism
- Multimedia presentations (videos or audio clips) that creatively express their gratitude to Indiaβs heroes
The platform encourages students to showcase their artistic, literary, and creative skills while reflecting on the bravery of gallant warriors who have laid down their lives or shown exemplary courage in service to the nation.
Objectives of Veer Gatha
Veer Gatha 4.0 aims to:
- Cultivate a sense of pride in Indiaβs rich legacy of courage and valor.
- Promote awareness about the bravery of our soldiers among young students.
- Provide students a platform to express their gratitude and respect for the sacrifices made by the armed forces.
- Inspire the youth to embody the values of resilience, service, and selflessness.
Through this project, students can gain deeper insights into the lives of Indiaβs gallantry awardees and understand the significance of their heroic actions.
Submission Guidelines
Students must submit their work via their schools, which will forward the best entries to MyGov. Participants should ensure that their entries adhere to the guidelines mentioned on the official Veer Gatha 4.0 portal.
Awards and Recognition
The best submissions will receive recognition on national platforms, with selected students being invited to participate in the Republic Day celebrations in January 2025. These winners will have the opportunity to share the stage with national leaders and be honored for their contribution to this unique initiative.
