About NLU Tripura

The National Law University, Tripura, established by Act No. 3 of 2022 of the Government of Tripura, is a premier national institution of legal education located in the green and smart capital city of Agartala. It marks a significant milestone in the realm of legal education and research in the state, aimed at enhancing the quality of professional legal training.

The foundation of NLU Tripura was laid on 12th October 2022 by Her Excellency Smt. Droupadi Murmu, Hon’ble President of India, in the esteemed presence of:

  • Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tripura
  • Hon’ble Justice Indrajit Mahanty, Chief Justice of the High Court of Tripura
  • Shri Ratan Lal Nath, Hon’ble Minister for Law and Education, Tripura
  • Prof. (Dr.) Yogesh Pratap Singh, Vice-Chancellor, NLU Tripura
  • Other Hon’ble Judges of the High Court of Tripura

Presently, the University is nurturing a select group of bright legal minds as part of its inaugural batch, laying the foundation for future leaders in law and justice.

About the Reel Making Competition

Participants are invited to create short reels (videos) on any legal issue or topic related to law and justice. The competition is open to students and professionals interested in law, including societies and centers of colleges.

Themes

A wide range of themes is provided, such as Access to Justice, Legal Rights of Marginalized Communities, LGBTQ+ Rights, Environmental Justice, and more. Participants may also choose sub-themes related to these topics.

Prizes and Recognition

  • Top 3 Winners: Cash prizes of ₹5,000 (1st), ₹3,000 (2nd), and ₹2,000 (3rd).
  • Top 10 Winners: Certificates of Recognition.
  • All Participants: Certificates of Participation.
