About the Contest
Technology Development Board (TDB) was constituted in 1996 under the Technology Development Act, 1995, with the mandate to promote the development and commercialization of indigenous technology and to adapt imported technology for wider domestic applications. In its journey of supporting over 300+ technology ventures and nurturing indigenous excellence, TDB has remained committed to propelling innovation from lab to market.
As TDB continues to celebrate technological innovation and excellence, there arises the need for a symbol—a memento—that embodies the spirit of innovation, commercialization, and national pride. This memento shall be presented during official events, including National Technology Day (11th May), project inaugurations, and award ceremonies, to dignitaries, start-ups, investors, and collaborators.
Technology Development Board (TDB) in collaboration with MyGov invites designers, artists, students, professionals, and innovators from across India to conceptualize and design a memento that encapsulates the spirit of technology and innovation in India.
Eligibility
- Open to all Indian citizens, design enthusiasts, professionals, students, and institutions.
- Both individual and team submissions are allowed.
- Each participant/team can submit only one entry.
Design Guidelines
- The memento design should reflect “India’s innovation journey” and the role of TDB in commercializing indigenous technology.
- It should resonate with themes of progress, innovation, and self-reliance (Atmanirbharta).
- The use of national emblems or motifs is encouraged, subject to appropriate proportions and respect for their dignity.
- The design should allow for practical fabrication using materials such as brass, wood, metal alloy, glass, acrylic, or a combination thereof.
- The size of the memento should be within: Height: 6–10 inches | Width: 3–6 inches | Weight: under 1.5 kg
- A short note (not exceeding 250 words) must accompany the design, explaining the symbolism, concept, and choice of material.
Submission Requirements
- Concept design (in JPEG or PDF format), along with 3D views if possible (optional).
- Description of the design concept (250 words).
- Material suggestion and production feasibility.

Evaluation Criteria
The evaluation of entries will be based on:
- Originality and creativity
- Relevance to TDB’s mission and values
- Aesthetic appeal and symbolism
- Feasibility for fabrication and durability
- Innovation in material use and design language
Jury & Selection Process
A Screening Committee will evaluate all entries received and shortlist the top 20 designs. A Jury Panel, comprising eminent designers, TDB officials, and technocrats, will select the winning design.
TDB reserves the right to refine, edit, or adapt the selected design for final production.
Awards & Recognition
- Ist Prize – ₹10,000 + Certificate of Recognition + Invitation to National Technology Day ceremony
- 2nd Prize – ₹5,000 + Certificate of Recognition + Invitation to National Technology Day ceremony
- 3rd Prize- ₹2,500 + Certificate of Recognition + Invitation to National Technology Day ceremony
- Top 10 entries will receive Certificates of Merit and will be featured on the TDB and MyGov platforms.
