The Central Board of Secondary Education is a national level board of education in India for public and private schools, controlled and managed by the Government of India.
Established in 1929 by a resolution of the government, the Board was an experiment towards inter-state integration and cooperation in the sphere of secondary education.

Ministry of Education, Govt. of India has launched a platform for offering Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) that is popularly known as SWAYAM (Study Webs of Active learning for Young Aspiring Minds). NCERT is offering such online courses for classes XI and XII in various subject areas through SWAYAM and running it in different cycles. In the eleventh cycle, NCERT is offering 28 online courses for classes XI and XII across 11 subjects areas (Accountancy, Business Studies, Biology, Chemistry, Economics, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology, English and Sociology) from October 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024.
These online courses can support and enrich the learning of the students in a virtual mode. Teachers and parents can also participate in these courses to understand the ways of approaching the content and subjects.
Course Details:
- Course Enrollment Start Date: October 01, 2023.
- Course Enrollment End Date: March 01, 2024.
- Course Start Date: October 16, 2023.
- Course End Date: March 31, 2024.
