About CBSE

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is a national-level board of education in India for public and private schools, controlled and managed by the Government of India. Established in 1929 by a resolution of the government, the Board was an experiment towards inter-state integration and cooperation in the sphere of secondary education. There are more than 27,000 schools in India and 240 schools in 28 foreign countries affiliated with the CBSE. All schools affiliated with CBSE follow the NCERT curriculum, especially from classes 9 to 12. The current Chairperson of CBSE is Nidhi Chibber, IAS.

The constitution of the Board was amended in 1952 to give its present name, the Central Board of Secondary Education. The Board was reconstituted on July 1, 1962, so as to make its services available to students and various educational institutions in the entire country.

Notice

The Vigilance Awareness Week will be observed from October 30 to November 5, 2023, with the following theme: “भ्रष्टाचार का विरोध करें; राष्ट्र के प्रति समवपिि रहे” or “Say no to corruption; commit to the Nation”.

Accordingly, all schools are advised to observe “Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW) – 2023” from October 30 to November 5, 2023, and organise activities from the following activities as may be feasible in their respective schools:

  • Display of banners, hoardings posters etc. during the VAW – 2023.
  • Administer “Integrity Pledge” by the students of class X to XII, teachers and other staff members of the school on 30.10.2023 in the school or any other day during the VAW Week as per the enclosed pledge at Annexure 1.
  • Sensitize the students of senior classes about the ill effects of corruption in the society and promote moral values amongst the students.
  • Sensitise the staff members for creating awareness amongst the staff members about the ill effects of corruption and to promote probity, integrity and honesty.
  • Special emphasis may be given to encourage the youth in various activities emphasising the importance of integrity and ethics.
  • Organize various activities such as lectures, panel discussions, debates, quiz, essay writing, slogans/elocution/cartoon/poster competitions on moral values, ethics, good governance practices etc. covering the theme of VAW-2023 so as to generate healthy debate on corruption and for ensuring active participation of students of schools.
  • Organise seminar/workshop in the school in the theme of VAW-2023.
  • Advise the students of Class X to XII, staff and others to take e-pledge and to encourage others to take e-pledge, by visiting the website of CVC.

The schools may also submit a report of the same at this link latest by November 10, 2023.
