Why These Visits Matter?

As we navigate an era driven by technology and innovation, it is crucial to move beyond textbooks and introduce students to real-world applications of STEM and entrepreneurship. That’s where AICTE IDEA Labs and ATAL Incubation Centres (AICs) come in.

  • IDEA Labs (Idea Development, Evaluation & Application) are state-of-the-art facilities set up across engineering institutions by AICTE. These labs focus on promoting innovation, design thinking, and practical application in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
  • ATAL Incubation Centres, established under the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog, are hubs for startup incubation and entrepreneurship. They offer a window into the world of innovation and technological advancement through live interaction with entrepreneurs, researchers, and mentors.

Unique Opportunity for Students and Teachers

CBSE is inviting affiliated schools to take advantage of this unique initiative by organizing visits to these centres. The primary objective is to foster curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving skills among students of Classes 8 to 12, while also empowering teachers with fresh perspectives on experiential and project-based learning.

Benefits of These Exposure Visits

  • Direct interaction with innovators, startup founders, and technologists
  • Hands-on exposure to design thinking, prototyping, and new-age technologies
  • Motivation to explore entrepreneurship and innovation-led careers
  • Capacity building for teachers through potential training or collaboration opportunities

What Schools Need to Do?

To participate in this initiative, schools are advised to follow these simple steps:

  • Identify nearby centres from the official lists:
  • Coordinate with the host institution to plan student visits or short orientation programs.
  • Schedule visits during summer vacations, weekends, or as part of your school’s experiential learning plan.
  • Ensure proper arrangements for transportation, safety, and supervision during visits.
  • Explore collaboration opportunities for teacher training, student projects, or innovation challenges.

Let’s Empower Young Minds

This initiative reflects CBSE’s commitment to building a vibrant innovation ecosystem in schools. By bridging classroom learning with real-world innovation hubs, students and teachers alike gain a deeper, more practical understanding of what it takes to think critically, create boldly, and lead responsibly.
