About CEPPS
CEPPS is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, nongovernmental consortium dedicated to advancing and supporting democratic practices and institutions around the globe. Established in 1995, CEPPS pools the expertise of three premier international organizations dedicated to democratic development: the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), the International Republican Institute (IRI), and the National Democratic Institute (NDI).
Programme Details
The Consortium for Elections and Political Process Strengthening (CEPPS) is looking for five young leaders from around the world to help inform youth-inclusive democracy, rights and government (DRG) programming through its DEPP Youth Advisory Council (YAC). The YAC will be engaged for a 10-month tenure (approximately December 2024 β September 2025) to support CEPPS in designing youth-informed strategies that strengthen effective, sustainable, inclusive youth inclusion in DRG programming.
Specifically, members of the YAC will collaborate with CEPPS to:β―Β
- Strengthen its overall youth inclusion approach through the revision of existing youth inclusion strategies.
- Support CEPPS partners in the inclusion of youth priorities in program design and reporting through the development of indicators to measure youth focused intermediate result statements.
- Mainstream youth inclusion and priorities into key cross-cutting areas.
- Design and present learning events and resources that increase DRGΒ practitionersβ understanding of the challenges that prevent a diverse population of young people from participating in political and civic life and offering approaches to address this.Β Β
As a YAC member, you will have the opportunity to meaningfully support CEPPS and its partners in offering solutions to some of the biggest challenges facing young people globally. Membership also offers an opportunity to develop professional skills in competitive areas such as research, strategic planning and networking.Β Β
Eligibility
Young people ages 18-30 who are nationals of Africa, Asia, Europe/Eurasia, Latin America/Caribbean, or the Middle East/North Africa and who are passionate about DRG issues in their communities.Β Β
