About FTII

The Film and Television Institute of India is a film institute under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of the Government of India and aided by the Central Government of India. It is situated on the premises of the erstwhile Prabhat Film Company in Pune.

Course Details

Film & Television Institute of India (FTII) under its Centre for Open Learning (CFOL) initiative, in association with Subhashchandra Bose Film and Television Institute (SCBFTI), Lucknow, announces Basic Course on Writing for Short Film Fiction to be conducted at SCBFTI Campus, Lucknow.

All communications with the participants will be carried out through email only. List of shortlisted participants will be published on FTII website. Selection email will be sent to the selected participants on their registered email id.

Course Contents

  • Brief Film History and Evolution of Cinema
  • A Brief exploration on the history of Cinema and how it has evolved through the years.
  • Importance of a writer and his place in Film Direction
  • Understanding the film production process in brief and understand how and where a screenwriter fits into the process and understand his her role.

25th to 29th November, 2024.

Timings

10 am to 5 pm (1 pm to 2 pm will be lunch break).

Maximum no. of Participants

24 (Course will be conducted only if minimum strength of 20 is reached).

Selection Criteria

On First – Come – First – Served Basis.

Age

18 years & above as on 01st November 2024 (participants born on or before 31 Oct. 2006).

Educational Qualification

HSC (12th pass). In exceptional cases, 10th pass may be considered.

Nationality

Indian.

Medium of Instructions

English and Hindi.

Subhash Chandra Bose Film & Television Institute (SCBFTI), Prabandh Nagar, Mubarakpur, IIM Road, Near IIM Lucknow, Lucknow.

Certificates

Participants would be given participation certificate on successful completion of the course. Minimum 90% attendance is mandatory to get certificate.
