About the Contest
FairGaze, India’s leading school-focused media ecosystem, is proud to launch its latest initiative, School Champs for Climate Actions 2024. This two-month, student-led campaign aims to empower young minds to take charge of climate action and sustainability. Through engaging activities and meaningful discussions, the campaign continues FairGaze’s mission to spread awareness about climate change and encourage everyone to ACT NOW.
The campaign coincides with two major global events: the celebration of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 29th UN Climate Change Conference (COP 29) in Baku, from 11th to 22nd November. Its focus is to align with SDG 13, which calls for urgent climate action, by involving students, teachers, parents, and climate experts in impactful climate initiatives.
Who Can Participate?
The campaign is open to all schools across India, engaging students from Grades 6 to 12 (ages 12-18), along with their parents and teachers. Participation is completely free, with submissions accepted in both English and Hindi through offline, online, or hybrid modes.
Climate Ambassador Committee Formation
Each participating school will establish a Climate Ambassador Committee. Students from Grades 6 to 12 will take on leadership roles as Climate Ambassadors, with each ambassador forming a class subcommittee to drive initiatives.
Key Focus Areas
The campaign emphasizes three crucial aspects of climate action:
- Saving Energy
- Promoting Recycling
- Saving and Cleaning the Ganga River
Creative Engagement
Students will explore these themes through diverse formats, including:
- Drawing and Poster Competitions
- Story Writing and Poetry Contests
- Hands-on projects and innovative environmental activities
