About the Notification
The 150th Birth Anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda will be celebrated from November 15, 2024, to November 15, 2025, honoring one of Indiaβs most revered tribal freedom fighters. Known as βBhagwanβ by his followers, Birsa Munda played a pivotal role in leading the Munda Rebellion against British rule and championed the rights of tribal communities. His contributions to Indiaβs freedom struggle and his efforts to preserve tribal identity and culture remain an inspiration for generations.
Suggested Activities for Schools
To mark this historic occasion, schools are encouraged to organize the following activities:
- Special School Assemblies: Dedicated assemblies can be held to commemorate the life and legacy of Birsa Munda. These sessions can also highlight the contributions of Janjatiya (tribal) communities to Indiaβs rich cultural and historical heritage.
