Samsung has launched the second season of the National Innovation Competition βSolve for Tomorrowβ in association with MeitY and IIT Delhi.
About the Competition
Can you change the world for the better with your next big idea? Nowβs your chance: Solve for Tomorrow is back and bigger than ever.
A nationwide education and innovation competition for Gen Z, Solve for Tomorrow is on the lookout for ambitious 16-22-year-olds who can solve global issues with game-changing tech solutions.
The three best ideas stand a chance to win a total of Rs. 1.5 crores and thatβs in addition to advanced training by FITT, IIT-Delhi, mentorship by Samsung, and Government experts as well as the opportunity to visit Samsung sites across the country. Itβs time to turn your dreams for a sustainable future into reality. Itβs time to Solve for Tomorrow.
Theme
The ideas should be under the themes: Education and Learning, Environment and Sustainability, Health and Wellness, and Diversity and Inclusion.
Eligibility Criteria
- This competition is open to Indian nationals only.
- Only candidates who are aged 16-22 years on the last day of the competition can apply.
- Individuals or teams of up to three people can apply for the challenge.
- The concept should be original in terms of science and technology or should be a wholly new product with a social or economic consequence. Without any innovation, new business models may not make it to consideration.
- The team/individual should not have previously obtained funds/awards for the identical proposal from any agency or through other competitions for more than five lakhs.
Prizes
The top three winning teams will get a prize money of Rs. 1.5 crores along with Samsung products while others participants who reach the top 30 and top 10 will be rewarded at various stages of the programme.
Additionally, the top 30 teams (individuals or teams of up to 3 members) will be trained and mentored by Samsungβs partners β Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT) at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT Delhi) and MeitY Startup Hub at a residential boot camp at IIT Delhi, helping participants enhance their ideas. They will also get Rs. 20,000 each to create initial prototypes and then pitch their ideas to a jury of young Samsung employees and experts from FITT, IIT Delhi and MeitY Startup Hub. This jury will select the top 10 teams for the finale.
These teams will also get the opportunity to visit Samsung India offices, its R&D centres, its design centre, and the Samsung Opera House in Bengaluru where they will interact with young Samsung employees and researchers.
The top 10 teams will get an additional Rs. 100,000 each to enhance their prototypes before the final pitch. They will be mentored by young Samsung employees who will assist them in various areas including tech, design, marketing and policy.
