About the Role

The primary responsibility includes: collaboratively executing the partnership function to build urgency and criticality on the importance of thriving in the ecosystem. Through developing strategic partnerships and leading the advocacy efforts of the organization, build a movement to equip millions of young people from vulnerable backgrounds to overcome adversity and thrive in the 21st century.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Liaise with government officials and other stakeholders for adopting thriving as a purpose of education.
  • Support in achieving organizational goals. Establishing a strategic partnership with the state education system to demonstrate the system on thriving as the purpose of education.
  • Implementation of the strategic direction of the function. Develop strong professional nexus with policymakers, administrators, and executors for discovering, dreaming, designing, and delivering of curriculum focusing on thriving, specifically Life Skills, Socio-Emotional Learning, and Value education.
  • Manage stakeholders and participate in discovering, dreaming, designing, and contextualization the Happiness Curriculum in terms of Punjab and in a language accepted and used across Punjab.
  • Also, regularly hunting for innovations focusing on Life Skills activities, components of SEL, and values to be incorporated in the Happiness Curriculum for Punjab and other programs after prior approval from concerned officials of the education system.
  • Liaison and exploration of opportunities for advocating facilitation skills of teachers through training in Punjab.
  • To liaise with the Department of Education, Government of Punjab for contextualization of the Life Skills curriculum of Dream a Dream so that it could reach a maximum number of children.
  • Manage team and complex functions. Providing direction and support to the team members within the function as and when required.
  • Coordinate with and support the external stakeholders (NGOs, research agencies, and Government) to build a life skills-focused approach in their work.
  • Provide support to the internal teams in research and M&E work as well as build an ecosystem premised on a life skills approach.
  • Managing and maintaining a database on key policy and advocacy issues related to different verticals of education, child and youth development, Life Skills, SEL, and Thriving.

General Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the achievement of strategic goals set by the organization.
  • Participate in strategic planning, annual planning, and budgeting processes for the organization.
  • Develop strategies to keep team members engaged in outreach efforts.
  • Being a small team, you would also be required to multi-task between roles given by your reporting manager, as and when required by the organization for the furtherance of its goals.
  • Accountability for achieving the goal of the function.

Skills

  • Should have experience and skills for the function.
  • Should have considerable knowledge and possess proven technical skills.
  • Strong managerial experience in terms of independently managing the function.
  • Leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Prior engagement with young people and experience in education, Life skills, or Socio-Emotional Learning is highly recommended.
  • Experience in leading teams, liaison with government officials, and Project management is desirable.
  • Strong spoken and written communication and articulation skills. Fluency in English and Hindi is a must. Knowledge of other Indian languages in reference to the geography of work is appreciable. In the case of Punjab, knowledge of Gurumukhi will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to travel to different parts of the country (towns and villages) at short notice, in post Covid era.
  • Excellent problem-solving and strategic thinking skills, ability to analyze complex qualitative and quantitative data, craft possible solutions, and recommend actions. Intermediate knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of experience of working in the development sector, majorly in Education. Hand Life Skills & Socio-Emotional Learning will be preferred.
  • Prior experience of working with the Government will be an added advantage.

Salary

Rs. 8,04,000 CTC Per Annum.
