Registrations are invited for Teacher Connect Workshop 2023: Four Ideas to Integrate the UN SDGs in the Language Classroom by British Council. The workshop will be held on August 23, 2023.

The British Council is the United Kingdom’s international organisation for educational opportunities and cultural relations. They create international opportunities for the people of the UK and other countries, building trust worldwide.

Their iconic building in New Delhi was designed by renowned architect Charles Correa and was opened in 1993 displaying a unique mural by Howard Hodgkin on the façade symbolising the banyan tree – an enduring image of India — along with a sculpture by Stephen Cox in the Charbagh called the Descent of the Ganges.

The theme for the month of August is ‘Understanding educational policies and practice’. The topic for the workshop is Four ideas to integrate the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the language classroom.

What are the objectives of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)? How will they benefit your learners when they are integrated into language lessons? How do you motivate learners to carry out these principles within their schools and communities?

In this workshop, they will explore these questions using an activity-based approach to interpreting the SDGs and their implications for your classrooms, with a focus on language development. We will look at practical examples to integrate these principles into your classroom routine, to enable learners to contribute to their communities.

The workshop is on Wednesday, 23 August 2023 at 5:30-6:30 p.m.
