Registrations are open, and teachers are invited for the Offline Session on Artificial Intelligence and English Language Teaching by the British Council, New Delhi.

The British Council is a British organisation specialising in international cultural and educational opportunities. It works in over 100 countries, promoting a wider knowledge of the United Kingdom and the English language (and the Welsh language in Argentina; and encouraging cultural, scientific, technological and educational cooperation with the United Kingdom. The organisation has been called a soft power extension of UK foreign policy, as well as a tool for propaganda.

The British Council is governed by a Royal Charter. It is also a public corporation and an executive non-departmental public body (NDPB), sponsored by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. Its headquarters are in Stratford, London. Its acting chair is Sarah Sands[6] and its chief executive is Scott McDonald.

This session will explore how artificial intelligence (AI) is being used for English language teaching and learning globally through findings from a new British Council report. They will also look at what these findings mean for teachers and learners. Some practical tips for teachers using AI to teach English will also be covered.

This session is open to all teachers who are interested in this topic.

Teachers will be awarded with certificate of participation.

Radhika leads the British Council’s work in teacher development across schools, the skills sector, and thought leadership programmes. In her career of over 10 years with the British Council, she has focussed on research and insight into using technology for teachers’ professional development and Communities of Practice (CoP). She has a Cambridge Delta qualification and a Master’s in Digital Technology, Education and Communication from the University of Manchester.
