In alignment with the transformative vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), in collaboration with the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), is organizing a one-day Orientation cum Capacity Building Workshop for Principals and Teachers of affiliated schools. This initiative aims to support the seamless implementation of Vocational Education, Art Education, and Physical Education in schools, beginning from Grade 6 as envisioned in NEP 2020.
The NEP 2020 advocates for holistic and experiential learning, proposing that at least 50% of learners should have access to vocational education by 2025. As a step toward this goal, NCERT has developed an innovative framework titled Kaushal Bodh—a series of activity-cum-textbooks designed to integrate vocational skills into the school curriculum. These resources promote hands-on learning and are available for free on the NCERT website.
In addition to vocational content, textbooks and guidelines for Art Education and Physical Education have also been introduced, aligning with the latest National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCFSE 2023). The upcoming workshop will familiarize educators with these resources and equip them to implement the changes effectively.
