A magazine for teen writers—by teen writers. Under the Madness brings together student editors from across New Hampshire under the mentorship of the state poet laureate to focus on the experiences of teens from around the world.
Submissions are invited for the Teen Poetry Contest 2023 by Under the Madness Magazine. The contest is to be judged by Isabella Ramírez. She is the 2022 National Youth Poet Laureate South Regional Ambassador, a program of Urban Word NYC, and the Jason Taylor Foundation’s 2021 South Florida Youth Poet Laureate.
Any teen between the ages of 13-19 years old living on Planet Earth is eligible. Poems must be in English (translations enthusiastically welcome) and have not been previously published (in a magazine, newspaper, or book). Poems that have appeared on social media are acceptable.
