Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is committed to educate and inspire children and youth passionate for space domain so that they will be enthused and plan their career in space science, technology and applications. In this context, ISRO has developed a structured online virtual platform named “ANTRIKSHA JIGYASA”. This online platform focusses on development and sharing of innovative active learning contents on space science, technology and its applications for young students for developing scientific temper and giving wings to their imagination.
Teachers play a crucial role in science education, serving as facilitators of learning, mentors, and societal role models for their students. They are instrumental in introducing and disseminating new technologies, ensuring that emerging knowledge and innovations benefit the next generation. Particularly in the realm of space science, technology, and its applications, it is essential to enhance and extend this knowledge to young children.
Therefore, training and continuous learning programs for school teachers and educators are pivotal in fostering a space-knowledgeable society. Recognizing this need, the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) and the Capacity Building Programme Office (CBPO) at ISRO HQ have launched a comprehensive capacity-building initiative, known as ISRO SETU, aimed at empowering space educators on a mass scale.
