Registrations are invited for Continuous Professional Development Courses for the Academic Session 2024-25 by NCERT. The last date of registration is August 31, 2024.
National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is an autonomous organisation of Ministry of Education, the Government of India. Established in 1961, it is a literary, scientific and charitable Society under the Societies Registration Act. Its headquarters are located at Sri Aurbindo Marg in New Delhi. Dr. Dinesh Prasad Saklani is the director of NCERT since 2022.
In 2023, NCERT constituted a 19-member committee, including author and Infosys Foundation chair Sudha Murthy, singer Shankar Mahadevan, and Manjul Bhargava to finalize the curriculum, textbooks and learning material for classes 3 to 12.
The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 emphasizes the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) of school heads and teachers to meet the needs of enriched teaching-learning processes for quality education. Also, it has been highlighted in NEP 2020, that all teachers and school principals are expected to participate in at least 50 hours of continuous professional development activities every year for their own professional development, driven by their own interests. In this context, Central Institute of Educational Technology, National Council of Educational Research and Training (CIET-NCERT) is offering online CPD courses through DIKSHA portal and mobile app for the academic year 2024-25.
These courses were offered for the first time in December 2023. To maximize the outreach of these courses for the beneficiaries, these Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses are being re-run again in the academic year 2024-25.
