Applications are invited for International Summer School 2025 by Jamia Millia and Eysa Centre. The program is convened annually by the Esya Centre under the banner of the Government’s acclaimed Incredible India campaign.
The Department of Political Science at Jamia Millia Islamia – A Central University became a preeminent centre of political studies (teaching and research) when its first batch of post graduate students enrolled in 1977. The Department progressed gradually and various new courses and research programmes were initiated, enabling the Department to carve a distinct niche and explore new frontiers in the academic world.
The Esya Centre’s mission is to generate empirical research and inform thought leadership to catalyse new policy constructs for the future. It simultaneously aims to build institutional capacities for generating ideas which enjoin the triad of people, innovation and value, consequently helping reimagine the public policy discourse in India and building decision-making capacities within government.
The International Summer School, New Delhi is an intensive, six-week academic program that brings together students from across the world over the course of a summer in New Delhi, India’s capital. The program is convened annually by the Esya Centre under the banner of the Government’s acclaimed Incredible India campaign.
The ISS runs in affiliation with the Department of Political Science at Jamia Millia Islamia – A Central University (JMI). Moreover, it has been the beneficiary of regular support from entities such as the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA; India), the ASEAN Secretariat (Indonesia) and the Department for International Development (DFID; UK) over the years.
The six-week program is divided into two components:
Scholarships specific to universities or institutions as part of their collaboration, arrangement and/or engagement with them are available.
The ISS welcomes applications from anyone who has a genuine interest in learning more about India including university students, high school students and working professionals, among others. The program is open to individuals of all nationalities and Indian nationals are also encouraged to apply. The minimum eligibility criteria may be seen below:
