FAO has launched a Free Online Course on Science and Innovation Strategy. Certificate will be provided after the completion of the Course.
This course familiarizes participants with the FAO Science and Innovation Strategy. It introduces the Strategy’s core components – the pillars, outcomes, enablers and guiding principles – fostering a holistic understanding of the Strategy. Key concepts such as science, innovation and technology are defined, highlighting their roles in driving progress. The course presents the Strategy’s vision, goal and scope, emphasizing better production, better nutrition, a better environment, and a better life, leaving no one behind, in support of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Practical application is emphasized, allowing learners to apply the Strategy to real-world scenarios for promoting sustainable agrifood systems.
This course is designed primarily for FAO staff, field-level practitioners, FAO Members and partners, aiming to guide and coordinate FAO’s work and collaborative efforts. In addition, the course will be valuable for policymakers, researchers, scientists, academia, extension services, agricultural practitioners, private sector stakeholders and civil society organizations involved in food security, agriculture and rural development.
