The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, India in collaboration with MyGov, India is organizing the Wetlands & Human Well Being Photography Contest from December 22 to January 22 in online mode.
The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) is the nodal agency in the administrative structure of the Central Government for the planning, promotion, coordination and overseeing the implementation of India’s environmental and forestry policies and programmes.
MyGov is an innovative platform to build a partnership between Citizens and Government with the help of technology for the growth and development of India. MyGov is part of Digital India Corporation, a Section 8 company under the Ministry of Electronics and IT, Government of India.
World Wetlands Day is observed every year on February 2nd all over the world. It is celebrated to raise global awareness about the vital role of wetlands for people and our planet. This day also marks the date of the adoption of the Convention on Wetlands on February 2, 1971, in the Iranian city of Ramsar.
This year’s theme of World Wetlands Day is “Wetlands and human well-being”, which highlights the importance of conservation and sustainable use of wetlands for human well-being. The Wetlands and Human Well-being Photography Contest would create awareness about and encourage the citizens of the country, especially the students about the conservation of wetlands.
The competition is open to all Indian citizens.
