Ministry of Defence and MyGov invites citizen to participate in the 1st National Online Quiz on Mountaineering by JIM&WS.

The Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering and Winter Sports (JIM&WS) was established at Aru (Pahalgam), Jammu & Kashmir (UT) on 25 October 1983. The Institute is a Registered Body under the J&K Society Registration Act VI of Samvat 1998 (1941 AD). Raksha Mantri is the President and Lieutenant Governor, Jammu & Kashmir (UT) is the Vice President of the Institute. Col Hem Chandra Singh is the Principal of the Institute since June 2023.The institute aims to expose the youth to nature, kindling the spirit of adventure, develop personality, character, courage and confidence through adventure sports. The institute has been bestowed upon to impart training on technical aspects of Mountaineering and to Undertake rescue operations/search missions.
