The Ozone Cell of the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEFCC), Government of India in collaboration with the National Museum of Natural History (NMNH), New Delhi is organizing an online national-level competition for school students during the occasion of World Ozone Day, 2023.
The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) is an Indian government ministry. The ministry is responsible for planning, promoting, coordinating, and overseeing the implementation of environmental and forestry programmes in the country.
The main activities undertaken by the ministry include the conservation and survey of the flora of India and fauna of India, forests, and other wilderness areas; prevention and control of pollution; Indian Himalayan Environment and its sustainable development; afforestation, and land degradation mitigation.
It is responsible for the administration of the 1947 national parks of India. The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change is the cadre controlling authority of the Indian Forest Service (IFoS), one of the three All India Services.
The National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) is a museum focusing on nature, located in New Delhi, India. Established in 1972 and opened in 1978, the museum functioned under the Ministry of Environment and Forests of the Government of India.
