The State of Maharashtra realizing the importance of quality legal education and the need for well-trained law graduates to the Bar, Bench and profession took a very bold decision by creating three National Law Universities in the State of Maharashtra at Mumbai, Nagpur and Chhatrapati Sambhajigar.

Further, all three are independent and autonomous institutions created under the Maharashtra National Law University Act, 2014. The latest one added to the list of National Law Universities in India is the Maharashtra National Law University, Chhatrapati Sambhajigar, which commenced on March 16, 2017.

The commencement of the University has fulfilled the aspirations of the people of the Marathwada region for an institution of national repute in Chhatrapati Sambhajigar.

The Centre for Public Law, MNLU-CS, was established in 2022 with the aim of disseminating thorough knowledge and developing critical thinking of Public Law among students. It aims to provide the students with the current trends and ongoing developments in the field of Public Law.

This includes talks on policies and schemes of the executive, Bills passed by the Legislature, and the Judgements delivered by the Judiciary. The Centre has undertaken research initiatives in the domain of transgender rights and inclusivity and is currently working on generating literature in the broader domain of socio-economic paradigms.

Think India – A pan India initiative to bring together the best talents of the country and to infuse in them a ‘Nation First’ attitude, aimed at developing the nationalistic spirit and inspiring young India to be of service to the society. It is a platform for the “Leaders of Tomorrow” where they deliberate on issues of national importance, raise their concerns and offer innovative solutions to the problems faced by India.

Think India felt the need to bind the students with an Indian nationalistic string to harness this part of national treasure in furthering our aim of national reconstruction. Students from IISc, IIMB, NIMHANS and NLSIU joined together to create a joint forum for the students from premier institutes of India in 2006. A formal forum took place at the Art of Living Ashram, Bengaluru in 2007.
