MyGov is a citizen engagement platform launched by the Government of India on July 26, 2014 to promote the active participation of Indian citizens in their country’s governance and development. It is aimed at creating a common platform for Indian citizens to “crowdsource governance ideas from citizens”.
Angdaan Mahotsav campaign kick-started on July 1, 2023, in line with the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to raise awareness on organ donation across the country. As part of the campaign, August 3, 2023, was celebrated as Indian Organ Donation Day to commemorate the first successful deceased donor organ transplant, which was also the first Heart transplant, after the promulgation of “The Transplantation of Human Organ Act” on July 8, 1994. The month of July 2023 is being celebrated as the Organ Donation month during which various awareness activities will be organised.
Taking the campaign, a step further, the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation(NOTTO) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in collaboration with the MyGov platform is organizing the “Let the Life Continue, Be a New Beginning For Someone – Jingle Writing Contest” on organ donation.
