Submissions are invited for 11th Annual Yale Environment 360 Film Contest. The last date of submission is May 20, 2024.

Yale Environment 360 is an online magazine offering opinion, analysis, reporting, and debate on global environmental issues. We feature original articles by scientists, journalists, environmentalists, academics, policymakers, and business people, as well as multimedia and a daily digest of major environmental news.

Yale Environment 360 is published at the Yale School of the Environment. We receive funding from the Ford Foundation, the BAND Foundation, the William Penn Foundation, the Heinz Endowments, and the Climate and Land Use Alliance. All of Yale Environment 360’s editorial decisions and judgments are made independently and not on the basis of donor support.

The opinions and views expressed in Yale Environment 360 are those of the authors and not of the Yale School of the Environment or of Yale University.

Online and print republication of Yale Environment 360 content is not allowed without written consent. Yale Environment 360 is funded by donations from private individuals and foundations that support our work.

The eleventh annual Yale Environment 360 Film Contest is now accepting entries.

The contest honors the year’s best environmental films from around the world, highlighting work that has not previously been widely seen. Submissions should focus on an environmental issue and be a maximum of 20 minutes in length. Films that are funded by an organization or company and are primarily about that organization or company are not eligible.

The first-place winner will receive $3,000, the second-place winner $2,000, and the third-place winner $1,000. The winning entries will be posted on Yale Environment 360.

The contest judges will be Yale Environment 360 executive editor Roger Cohn, Pulitzer Prize winner and e360 contributing writer Elizabeth Kolbert, and Oscar-winning documentary filmmaker Thomas Lennon.
