Participate in the Comic Story Contest on Weather and Climate Services by IMD and MyGov. The deadline is December 17, 2024!
Established in 1875, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) is completing 150 years of service to the nation on 15th January 2025. IMD is among the earliest government departments created specifically for systematic observation, regular reporting and scientific forecasting of weather phenomenon in the Indian subcontinent. In a way, the evolution of meteorology as a stream of modern physical science owes a lot to the contributions made by scientists and technologists who were associated with IMD during its glorious one hundred and fifty years of journey.
To commemorate our remarkable 150-year journey of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) of the Ministry of Earth Sciences, we proudly announce IMD’s Comic Contest in collaboration with MyGov. It is an exciting opportunity to blend creativity with awareness, encouraging participants to tell compelling stories through the art of comics. This contest aims to highlight the India Meteorological Department’s critical contributions to weather forecasting, climate monitoring, and disaster management in a visually engaging way. By translating complex concepts into relatable and creative narratives, participants can inspire a deeper appreciation for IMD’s work among diverse audiences. The contest also provides a unique platform for young talents to showcase their artistic skills while promoting the importance of meteorology in everyday life.
