Submissions are invited for Children’s World Writing Contest 2025 on Chaos for Children. The last date of submission is January 15, 2025.
Children’s Book Trust was founded by Shankar in 1957. It came to be housed in Nehru House, inaugurated by the President of India Dr. S. Radhakrishnan on November 30, 1965. Pioneer publishers of children’s books in India, Children’s Book Trust has set for itself an ambitious target to promote the production of well written, well illustrated and well designed books for children. In furtherance of this objective, the Trust brings out books that are easy to read and easy on the eyes, including books that enable children to have a better appreciation of India’s cultural heritage.
Since 1968 the Trust has been publishing an illustrated monthly magazine in English called ‘Children’s World’. Catering to school children, the magazine encourages creative talent in children by publishing their articles and drawings. The magazine also provides a training ground for upcoming writers, enthusiastic to enter the field of children’s literature. The beautifully illustrated stories, features and columns on a variety of themes including science, history, nature, space, sports, news and views help children broaden their horizons and encourage creativity, imagination, empathy, skills and knowledge.
Children’s World is inviting all those who are above 18 years of age to write ONE 700-word story for children on ‘Chaos’.
Chaos, uncertainty, confusion and mayhem are elemental to existence. According to mythology, chaos is the necessary pre-condition for creation. They invite you send them your original, unpublished stories that help children embrace, deal with and celebrate chaos.
The shortlisted stories will be published in their 58th Annual Number (April 2025) Issue.
Mail them your entry with complete address, phone number and a recent passport-size photograph to be published along with your story to cwcontest[dot]nd[at]gmail[dot]com.
