Registrations are invited for Carol the King: Global Carol Singing Competition 2024 by Hindustan Group of Institutions. The last date of registration is December 1, 2024.
The Hindustan Group of Institutions (HGI) was founded in 1966 by our founder and Chairman, Late Dr.K.C.G.Verghese. In the Sixties, our Chairman had realized the need for an institution that offers non-formal technical education. The establishment of Hindustan Engineering Training Centre (HETC) helped in the evolution of Hindustan Institute of Engineering Technology (HIET) which met this need.
This educationist, industrialist and pioneer of the concept of non-formal technical education in Chennai (Madras) headed several other institutions. These institutions aim at imparting quality education in the fields of engineering, aviation, architecture, law, applied sciences and management.
Submissions are invited for Carol the King: Global Carol Singing Competition 2024 by Hindustan Group of Institutions. The choir teams from any part of the world can take part in this contest provided the team is representing an institution.
There will be two rounds for the competition.
Round-1 Qualifying Round
The choir can perform any one Christmas Carol of their choice, in unison or four parts and an unedited video of the live performance should be recorded with date stamp and sent in mp4 format to the e-mail id, caroltheking[at]hindustanuniv[dot]ac[dot]in.
The choir must consist of atleast 06 to a maximum of 50 members.
Pre-recorded tracks (inclusive of styles in keyboard) are not allowed for singing. Maximum time limit is 5 mins.
Last date of receipt of video is December 2, 2024.
Round – 2 Finals
The teams selected from the qualifying round will be notified through e-mail. Finals will be conducted at Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HITS) campus, Padur on 7 December 2024.
The selected choir teams from other states other than Tamil Nadu may join online and must perform live. All the other selected choir teams must be present at the HITS campus on the above-said date. If the teams don’t report on time, they will be disqualified for the final round. A song suggested by the organizers must be performed in acapella. Maximum time limit is 5 mins.
Pre-recorded tracks (inclusive of styles in keyboard) are not allowed Team members must remain the same as in the qualifying round.
The competition will be conducted in three categories
Exciting Prizes worth R. 1,00,000 and the privilege to receive awards on HGI’s Christmas Eve.
