The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti, in collaboration with MyGov, is inviting all citizens to participate in a 7-day Swachhata Challenge. This initiative encourages participants to create high-resolution videos showcasing day-wise highlights, including before and after scenes of the spot or site they choose to clean. The goal is to inspire others and communicate the significance of Swachhata (cleanliness) in a creative and engaging way.
The Swachhata Challenge is part of the broader ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign, observed this year from 17th September to 2nd October, under the theme ‘Swabhav Swachhata – Sanskaar Swachhata’ (स्वभाव स्वच्छता – संस्कार स्वच्छता). The aim is to facilitate large-scale advocacy and encourage citizen participation for Swachhata across the nation. This year, the challenge focuses on cleaning neglected, difficult-to-clean spots (black spots), recognizing the invaluable contributions of sanitation workers, celebrating past achievements, and recommitting to the future of sanitation and sustainable waste management in India.
