About the Competition
The National Zoological Park in New Delhi is hosting a series of Wildlife Week events from October 2 to 8, 2024. Activities include butterfly walks, clay modeling, painting and collage competitions, bird feeder making, and expert talks on wildlife conservation. Enrichment activities focus on lions, reptiles, bears, and birds. Participants, especially students, will engage in various competitions with prizes for the winners. There are also free entries for children and participants during the event week.
Offline Competitions
October 4, 2024
Clay Modeling Competition | 10:00 AM | 120 MINUTES
- Topic: Wildlife in our culture
- Eligibility/Group: Group A: Blind Divyangjan | Group B: PH/ CWSN Divyangjan
- Preparation: Clay for modelling will be provided by National Zoological Park.
Wildlife Collage poster making Competition | 10:00 AM | 120 MINUTES
- Topic: Collage on “Concealed Beauty of Wildlife”
- Eligibility/Group: Open to all students
- Preparation: Student will bring collage material with them. Only A-1 size drawing sheets will be provided by NZP.
Enclosure Enrichment | 03:00 PM | 60 MINUTES
- Topic: Species in Focus : Reptiles
- Eligibility/Group: Zoo Volunteers, students and reptile keeping staff.
- Preparation: Activity will be conducted at Reptile house and enclosure.

- Preparation: Raw Materials for the activity will be provided by National Zoological Park .
Keeper’s Talk and Enclosure Enrichment | 03:00 PM | 60 MINUTES
- Topic: Species in Focus : Bear
- Eligibility/Group: Zoo Volunteers, students, visitors and bear keeping staff
- Preparation: Activity will be conducted at Bear enclosure. Literature on bears will be distributed.

- Preparation: At Education Centre.
Debate Competition | 11:00 AM | 120 MINUTES
- Topic: Wildlife and human can co-exist
- Eligibility/Group: 9th to 12th Class
- Preparation: Schools willing to participate in debate competition are requested to send name of maximum two students (For & Against) from their school on or before 4th October, 2024 till 4:30PM.

- Topic: Species in Focus : Primates
- Eligibility/Group: Zoo Volunteers, students, visitors and primate keeping staff
- Preparation: Activity will be conducted at Primate enclosure. Literature on primates will be distributed.

- Topic: Species in Focus : Herbivore
- Eligibility/Group: Zoo Volunteers, students, visitors and herbivore keeping staff
- Preparation: Activity will be conducted at Herbivore enclosures.

Terms & Conditions
- For prize winners of each of the above-mentioned competition category there will be four Award categories viz: First (Rs. 3,000/-), Second (Rs. 2,000/-), Third (Rs. 1,000/-) and two consolations (Rs. 500/- each). In case of entries less than 3 there will not be any award. Participation certificates will be provided to all participants.
- Free entry for children up to 12 years of age, from 2nd to 8th October, 2024, during the wildlife week.
- Free entry to all participants along with school teachers/ accompanying staff /parents during Wildlife Week from 2nd Oct. 2024 to 8th Oct. 2024.
- Registration timing for the competition: – 9:00Am to 9:30AM (on the day of offline competition). Registration desk will at the entrance gate of National Zoological Park (Delhi Zoo), New Delhi.
- Daily documentary / short film shows at Education Centre for zoo visitors from 03:00 PM to 4:00 PM during the wildlife week celebration.
