About the Olympiad

At the International Scratch Olympiad 2025, we’re passionate about fostering a culture of innovation and creativity in the realm of coding. Through the engaging and interactive world of Scratch, we aim to ignite a spark of curiosity and passion for creative coding in children and young individuals worldwide.

Our event serves as a global platform dedicated to celebrating the ingenuity of young programmers and educators, utilizing Scratch, a dynamic visual language for coding.

Our vision is simple yet profound: to inspire and empower the next generation of tech enthusiasts and problem solvers. 

Eligibility

  • Participants must be between the ages of 5 and 18 years old.
  • Each participant must have a validΒ ScratchΒ account.
  • Only individual entries are accepted.

Categories

Please select a category based on your child’s current age when applying for this competition. Your chosen category should match your child’s age for fair participation.

  • Category A: For Students who are 5-8 years old
  • Category B: For Students who are 9-10 years old.
  • Category C: For Students who are 11-12 years old.
  • Category D: For Students who are 13-14 years old.
  • Category E: For Students who are 15-18Β yearsΒ old.

Mode of Registration and Submission: Online

Theme

The competition will have specific themes or categories announced before the event. Participants must create Scratch projects based on these themes. Read more about the themesΒ here.

Judging Criteria

  • Projects will be evaluated based on creativity, functionality, originality, technical complexity, and adherence to the theme.
  • Judges’ decisions will be final and not open to dispute.
