Applications are invited for the Bachelor of Vocational Studies in Journalism at TISS, Mumbai. The last date of application is May 30, 2023.
Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was established in 1936 as a premier institute of Social Work in India. It was recognized as a deemed University by UGC in the year 1964.
The course will cater to well-rounded introduction to the basics of freelance journalism. The key components of writing news, features and vox pops will be taught.
The B.Voc degree is a regular full time programme of three years duration.
The eligibility for admission to B. Voc. in Journalism shall be 10+2 or equivalent, in any stream.
The prime recruiters for a journalism graduate are TV Production firms, AIR, Radio Stations, Digital Media firms, Internet Media firms, Print Media firms, News Channels.
In the above mentioned places, graduates may don roles such as Reporter, Editor, Anchor, Broadcast Technician, Cameraman/Photographer, Columnist, Analyst, Writer and Photojournalist. If any student interested in self-employment, he /she may become a Freelance Journalist. One may even become an Independent Investigative or Photojournalist.
