Conversation with Rishi conducted by Prathyush, a class 9 student of NPS Kengeri, and an Emerging Leader at NoticeBard.
I am Rishi Gupta, currently in Class 9 at NPS Kengeri. It’s been an exciting journey, to say the least. I’ve been a part of this wonderful school since kindergarten, and each year brings new experiences and memories.
NPS Kengeri is like a second home to me. The thing I enjoy the most is the sense of community and the support from both teachers and classmates. The school encourages not just academic excellence but also all-round development, which I find really cool.
I really enjoy mathematics and science. They challenge me to think critically and solve problems creatively. The teachers here make these subjects so interesting with their innovative teaching methods. It’s not just about memorizing facts; it’s about understanding and applying concepts, which makes learning more engaging.
There are plenty of funny moments! One that comes to mind happened during a science experiment in the lab. We were conducting a rather messy experiment with chemicals, and suddenly, one of my friends accidentally spilt a beaker. It was like a scene from a comedy movie — everyone started panicking, trying to avoid the spill, and our teacher had this amused look on her face. We had to clean up the mess, but it turned into a laughter-filled chaos.
The school organizes various events and activities throughout the year that bring students together. Whether it’s sports competitions, cultural events, or even class projects, we get to collaborate and bond with our classmates. There’s a real emphasis on teamwork, and it helps create a strong sense of camaraderie.
I’m a part of the school’s robotics club, and it’s been an incredible experience. We participate in competitions, work on innovative projects, and learn a lot about technology and engineering. Besides that, I also play badminton during the sports sessions, which is a great way to unwind and stay active.
There’s one incident that still makes us laugh. We were preparing for a robotics competition, and our robot suddenly went haywire during a practice run. It started moving in the opposite direction and crashed into a table, knocking down a few things. We were initially panicking, but then we realized how funny the situation was. It turned out to be a programming glitch, and we fixed it, but the memory of our robot going rogue still brings a smile to our faces.
The school provides various platforms for students to showcase their creativity. We have art exhibitions, cultural events, and even talent shows where students can express themselves. There’s also a strong emphasis on project-based learning, which allows us to explore our interests and come up with unique ideas. It’s a great way to foster creativity and independent thinking.
Time management is crucial, and I’ve learned to prioritize my tasks. The school also provides a supportive environment, and teachers are always willing to help. Balancing academics and extracurricular activities requires careful planning, but it’s definitely doable. Plus, being involved in activities I’m passionate about helps me stay motivated and focused.
I aspire to pursue a career in technology, perhaps in the field of robotics or artificial intelligence. NPS Kengeri is providing me with a solid foundation in science and technology, and the extracurricular activities are honing my problem-solving and teamwork skills. The school’s emphasis on holistic development is preparing me not just academically but also for the challenges of the real world.
