Applications are invited for the Women Who Lead Governance Fellowship 2025. The last date for the application is January 10, 2024!
Women Who Lead supports professional women in healthcare and other fields by helping them develop leadership skills and overcome the unique challenges women face in the workplace. With over 400 members, this volunteer-led network aims to create a movement that nurtures a pipeline of diverse women leaders ready to transform the healthcare landscape.
The program provides women with the skills, opportunities, and support needed to succeed. Above all, Women Who Lead serves as a platform for collaboration and inspiration, amplifying the contributions of women and the wider community.
The Women Who Lead Governance Fellowship is a unique professional development opportunity designed for women in healthcare who aspire to enter the boardroom. Led by a distinguished faculty of governance experts, board recruitment specialists, and women in healthcare currently serving on non-profit boards, this program provides participants with a solid foundation in healthcare governance and guidance on pursuing opportunities on Boards of Directors.
The Women Who Lead Governance Fellowship will involve a time commitment of approximately 10 hours of programming over a 4 month period. Content will be delivered over three core sessions and one optional session, providing insight into various areas of the governance journey.
The comprehensive program is offered at no cost to participants, with faculty from Mirams Becker and Miller Thomson generously contributing their time, resources, and expertise to support the Women Who Lead community. While the program costs are fully covered, applicants will be responsible for their travel expenses to attend in-person sessions in Toronto, Ontario. A letter confirming program enrollment can be provided for Fellows seeking employer support to cover these expenses.
This Fellowship is designed for women in healthcare at all career stages who have an interest in board governance and a passion for making an impact. The Fellowship content is focused on foundational aspects of applying for a board position and navigating board dynamics. While the content is geared towards breaking into the boardroom (e.g., getting your first Board role), it is also helpful for women who are early in their Board journey
