Registrations are open and invited for the National Cyber Olympiad (NCO) 2023 by Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF).
Established in 1998, Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) is an educational foundation based in New Delhi, India. Through various Olympiads, it promotes science, mathematics, general knowledge, introductory computer education, social studies, professional skills, and English language skills among schoolchildren in India and many other countries.
The National Cyber Olympiad (NCO) is one of the most popular competitive exams in India which is conducted under the umbrella of the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF).
It helps students identify their hidden scientists and showcase their IT talents. A good rank in these exams helps students increase their confidence and helps to secure various scholarships under different levels. The main focus of this exam is to motivate science students.
SOF NCO will be conducted on two dates, as under. A school may select one date to conduct the SOF NCO as per its convenience.
The basic criteria for students to give the National Cyber Olympiad exams are, that they must be studying in any recognized education board (i.e., CBSE, ICSE, etc.) in India.
Students from classes 1 to 12 can participate in this exam, and there is no minimum marks bracket to be eligible for this exam. Many exams under SOF have 2 level examinations, but National Cyber Olympiad has only one level of examination, i.e., a single-level exam.
Students in India who wish to appear in the National Cyber Olympiad exam can fill out the NCO registration form in offline mode at their respective schools. They can collect the NCO application form from their Principal, Vice Principal, or teacher-in-charge.
After filling out the complete SOF NCO form 2023, students have to pay a registration fee of Rs. 125 (including GST) to school authorities. No fee is payable for students with any major physical disability or a student whose parent was martyred during defense operations. Schools may take additional fees of Rs. 25 as an honor towards the teacher to guide students for the exam.
The SOF NCO is conducted on two dates. Each school may select a date for conducting the SOF NCO at its convenience. Each date of the exam has a separate question paper. Change of date for conducting SOF NCO is not permitted.
The question paper will be an objective-type of 60 minutes duration comprising 35 objective-type (Multiple Choice) questions for classes 1 to 4 and 50 objective-type (Multiple Choice) questions for classes 5 to class 10.
The question paper consists of three sections:
There are separate question papers for each date of the exam.
The medium of the test is English.
CBSE, ICSE/ISC, and State Board syllabus are followed for setting the test papers.
The exam is conducted during school hours.
