Registrations are invited for Webinar on Relevance of Large-Scale Assessment in Improving School Education by Azim Premji University. It will be held on December 16, 2024.
Azim Premji University is a private university, located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. It was founded in 2010 and is named after Azim Premji, an Indian businessman and philanthropist who was chairman of Wipro Limited.
The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2030 emphasise the need for a competency-based education system that is both inclusive and equitable. In this context, Large-Scale Assessments (LSAs) play a crucial role in providing data-driven insights to track and measure progress of the education system toward achieving these goals. The practice of conducting LSAs is becoming increasingly established among government bodies, civil society organisations, and academia, with growing interest in understanding and utilising assessment data.
Can LSAs provide a valid and reliable picture of the educational status of a concerned cohort? How can LSA results be effectively translated into data-driven policy making and interventions that align with the educational goals outlined in NEP 2020. How are LSA results used for monitoring and legitimising educational reforms globally? What are the key principles for designing and administering LSAs in a diverse country like India? How can we prevent the misinterpretation of LSA results to avoid unintended consequences?
Join them for a panel discussion where experts from prominent institutions will unpack the role of large-scale assessments in ensuring equitable, effective, and inclusive education.
